Seriously by the way... beards are not scary. I have never feared one in my life.
You didn't read my follow up to the post you quoted.

If you are one of the people posting on a Kawa board as a former Kawa rider but now ride a HD, obviously my statement didn't apply to you. Simple fact, I haven't met an unfriendly person on this board that wasn't willing to help a fellow rider regardless of what they rode or the other person rode.

No problem... and yes I owned a Nomad and loved it. I made a switch because I was too lazy and untalented to put a trunk and other "stuff" on my Nomad to make it a tourer. I needed a tourer for the riding I do. So... long story is... I have short legs and an HD Ultra with a lowering-kit fit the bill.

Yeah... I am often the butt of the short jokes...

Regarding beards scaring me to where I am in fear... I cannot grow a beard, thus I am never in fear of a beard. It just simply will never happen.

Lastly, regarding HD riders... I hear what you said all the time from people, but have not personally seen much, if any of the attitudes. Certainly there are a few, and occasionally they get together to where it may seem like a lot of them exist. However, all-in-all, I just haven't seen it; which makes me think there are other reasons people say these things.

Lastly (again), I also ride a CanAm Spyder RTS. I ride it to the same spots I ride my motorcycle and I have never once been harassed about it. Only on this site do I catch crap about it... but then I just simply consider the source of harassment.

I have a lot of friends I have made on this site since joining in July of 2008. I like hearing from them, and giving them the grief they deserve. I assume they get the same pleasure in delivering it back.

Welcome aboard, and hopefully we'll run across each other at a rally or something someday!

Just read where the 1600 is rated at "95CuIn" and I appreciate having this info. Now for a dumb question....how does that equate to horsepower? I live in Europe and my registration does not quote HP. If you don't mind, a response to <krygwy@rocketmail.com> would be appreciated and excuse my ignorance.

Ken there are no ignorant questions, I can't find the page, but
I believe the 1600 motor puts out about 65 hp. If you repost your
question in the 1500 / 1600 section. I'm sure the right person will
give you a better answer.

There is no direct correlation between engine displacement (cu in/cc) and power output (hp/torque). In other words, one can't derive the horsepower merely from knowing the displacement of a given engine.

As it appear's.. 1500 = 95CuIn, is a "translation/conversion" of the 1500 cc, into 95 Cubic Inches..and not intended to indicate a Horse Power output ! ?

A "horsepower Calculation" requires the cly head combustion chamber area..number of "power strokes" per minute,(RPM) Lbs of fuel burned per ignition event/per stroke

..dang I could go out to the garage and get my "Aircraft power plant Engineering info...

on the other hand i'm sure there are some -younger minds- all full of fresh training/knowledge..on here somewhere that will jump in with the correct math formula !

That's right. There is no correlation between displacement and horsepower if the only known variable is the displacement. One liter = 61 cubic inches, so a Vulcan 1600 is actually 1552 cc's or 1.552 liters therefore 1.552 * 61 = 94.67 cubic inches.

+1...case in point...My 1500cc Nomad had about 70hp....my 1300cc Honda has 125HP
