Reckless fairing (more pics 05/23)

So I ordered my Reckless fairing and last Friday I received the UPS tracking information. I thought I'd see where it is today...

MEMPHIS, TN, US 05/03/2010 1:00 P.M. EMERGENCY CONDITIONS BEYOND UPS' CONTROL
NASHVILLE, TN, US 05/03/2010 12:52 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
NASHVILLE, TN, US 04/30/2010 11:19 P.M. ARRIVAL SCAN
MARYVILLE, TN, US 04/30/2010 8:30 P.M. DEPARTURE SCAN
04/30/2010 7:07 P.M. ORIGIN SCAN
04/30/2010 5:10 P.M. PICKUP SCAN
US 04/28/2010 2:49 P.M. BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

Doesn't look good. It was supposed to be on Thursday. I'm guessing this must be related to the storms in the Southeast?

Our weather guy said this morning that Nashville already had more than the normal amount of rain for the month of May (as of 7am on 5/3) Essentially, less than two days had a month's worth of rain. Maybe you're better off if it wasn't in Nashville, although Memphis may not have been much better.
I thought you were going to go with a Tsukayu fairing. What changed your mind?

I wasn't sure a Tsukayu was worth twice the price of a Reckless.

UPS updated the tracking info. It looks like the fairing is moving again. Still scheduled for Thursday delivery.

I live 50 miles south of Memphis in some places they had over 8" of rain in one day, I live on a hill and it looked like a water fall running down my yard.

CJ,
Is that fairing going to work with your CWI lights? I would think the light brackets that attach to the windshied would be in the way....but maybe not. I'm curious because if it DOES fit I might be interested in one of those myself.....

I don't know, Kris. That's something I have to determine when it gets here. I'll let you know.

Reckless fairing (more pics 05/23)

I have been thinking of adding more functionality to my new fairing, other than just as a windscreen and extravagant sound system. Like maybe adding switches for driving lights and other accessories. I have 2 sets of driving lights (assuming they both stay on the bike), I could add a switch for a 4-way hazard flasher circuit, and so on.

Pros & cons?

Obviously, one con is loss of control of accessories if fairing is ever removed.

I don't mean to make lite of the situation in Tenn. but I had this vision CJ , of the box with your fairing in it floating down some street past a stop sign. .....just my sick humor. I hope you get it soon. You'll have yours on before me. I have to wait for the spring storms to stop dropping snow on the hwy's in the mountains. Good luck with entire project.
