when i installed the aux lights on my vaquero, I had to remove the front part of the fairing. others have said to remove the speakers and you can reach in to remove the "vents" but my hands were too big and you cant see what your doing when your hand is in there. you could try removing the head light, but I think its just as bad. removing the front half of the fairing is not that difficult. It took me about 2 hours taking my time to make sure it was done right the first time. Now that ive done it once im sure I can do it faster if I had to go in for something else. A shop manual is a big help with pictures.

Pulling the fairing is a whole lot of unnecessary work, I've done it both ways. First time I followed the directions, then I realized there was a better way, for me.

Like others have said, pull the speakers, glove compartments and head light and you will have easy access.
