"Ultimate" Ultimate seat test

Purchased an Ultimate seat for my '05 Nomad about 2 weeks ago. Have done a couple of short weekend rides and to work. However, me and a buddy (also recently purchased an Ultimate for his Streetglide) took part in the Moonshine Saddle Sore 1K on Thurs-Fri for an Ultimate test! Have to admit that the seat did an excellent job. Seemed like I still need a break every couple of hours but not due to any real pain from my lower regions........but more from just being tired of sitting in same general position. Even at hour number 20 and 1100 miles the seat was still comfortable. Have to give a 2 thumbs up for the Ultimate seat! On a side note you gotta check out these guys that do this regularly and their bikes! They have some really interesting rides.

fudd, The ultimate seat, is that made for your butt?
Or is it a generic seat for the masses of asses?
How much money do they cost?
Is the Moonshine ride only in that area?

I know what you mean fudd, no matter how great the seat may be I've got to get the old knees limbered up once in a while or I might fall on my face when I get off the bike!

Ultimate seats are made for the masses, they have a web site and a store front operation near Destination Daytona.

Moonshine Lunch Run is a benefit ride started by Terry Hammond about 8 years ago. It has developed into a charity event for Casey, IL area. http://moonshine-run.com/Moonshine/Default.asp The SS1000 ride was a special ride for this year's MLR.

I also think that The Ultimate seats are available and made in Canada as well, in Mississauga I beleive.

When I ordered the seat they did ask me for my weight.........so I am guessing it is made for the masses in several "densities"? Since the MLRSS1K was a charity event the requirements were less stringent.........only had to show start/midpoint/finish receipts with city/date/time and have odometer verified at finish. There are other rides listed on the Iron Butt website up to coast-to-coast in 48 hours or 7K in 7 days.............gggeeeeeeesh!

IBA has some intense rides...some quite warped. The 50CC is intriguing to me...the 48+ in 10 days, not so much. Congrats on the SS1000.

I had one on the 900 I just sold. Best thing I ever did to that bike. My current Mustang does not compare.

and thats where everyones butt is different. I had a mustang on my 1500classic and loved it, put a Ultimate seat on my 1600 nomad and was not impressed with it, wouldnt buy another one.

after trying the mustang i bought an ultimate and can ride multiple 500+ mile days with no problem.

Bought my first ultimate seat for my 03 VTX 1300 and it was the best money I could of spent. The honda seat was terrible.
I bought my Nomad three years ago and the Kawi factory seat is a big improvement over the Honda. Once again last year I caved and bought the ultimate seat for my Nomad and a second one for the wife's VN900.
Both of us were very happy with the upgrade. Ultimate has a plant in Florida and one here in Ontario. They are in Toronto on Klondike, Del is the owner and great folks to deal with. I've been there to watch them fab my seat and picked them up at the plant.
Count on $500 for seats, $800 if you want the driver and passenger backrests.
I think they are the best seats on the market.
