Still riding

Worked on the yard Saturday morning until about 2:00 p.m. The temp got up to 43 degrees with the sun shining so I figured it would be a great time to go for a ride. Chose one of my favorite local rides that is about an hour and a half long and hit the road. Turned out to be a beautiful way to finish off the day. Got up Sunday and washed the cars, cleaned the garage and decided to go for a ride. Rode for about 4 hours with the temp getting up to 49 degrees with a partly cloudy sky. Only saw a few other riders out both days but I sure did have a great weekend riding. Any of my mid-west brethren still riding? I plan on riding until the snow starts to fly and then I will begrudgingly put her away for the winter. Am not looking forward to the next 4 or 5 months

I'll ride until ice and snow and the dreaded salt comes out. With the larger lowers and the bar chaps on I actually was warm riding to work the other day, it was 26 degrees. Had visor up and coat unzipped :-) I don't use heated gear, personally don't need it, I like cold weather to ride in.

Rode today only for an hour. I just received my engine guard chaps today. Had to try them out. Plan on going this sat. maybe to Tobies at Hinckley for lunch. Anyone up for that?

Might get a window to ride this coming weekend. Only in the 40's is forecast though. Overnight temps are below freezing now so I'm not wanting to be on the roads early morning, like riding to work.

Was out in Boulder visiting 2 weekends back and sure wished I could have been riding there. Nice temps and there is just nothing like riding through the canyons on the motorcycle.

I went ahead and made my reservation for Estes Park in June. -C

Hey Cal, happy to see that you made your reservations for Estes Park. It is a bit chilly riding when the temp. is in the upper 20's or low 30's but once you are frozen you don't hardly notice it

You guys are breaking my heart. I was thinking about you last night as my wife and I were eating dinner on the patio at Rudy's BBQ.

It's a bit chilly this morning, only 62°. It will get better though. This afternoon should be in the upper 80's.

Some of you Arizona guys sure have short memories, seems like you were just complaining about how it was too hot to ride. We have winter, you have summer. I for one am happy to have a few months of not riding, I have clocked over 20,000 miles this year. If I could ride all year I would have to buy a new bike every year and pay for a divorce lawyer or two

No complaints from me. My "Hottest" long ride this summer was at 117°. It was sweaty, but doable. Just add a long sleeved white cotton shirt and a CamelBack full of ice water. A few hot summer rides is well worth the 8 months of perfect riding weather. Riding in the snow and ice (or not at all) is way less attractive (to me).

There were a couple days it did and I wished I had something with more airflow.
