Hey, Mitch. I won't be able to stay overnight either. I have to attend a birthday party that evening. If that forecast holds, it should be a good weekend. By the way, do you want to meet up somewhere along the way ?

Jim ( OB ) I'm hate to hear that you won't be able to go. It would be good to see you again, but I totally understand your reason. Maggie Valley is a beautiful place. Been there several times. Do they still have Ghost Town in the Sky ?

Frank, I usually go up to Gatlinburg two or three times a year. Not on the bike but the car. I hear the Ghost Town has opened back up. I haven't driven over to see for sure. Just something I heard while there.

We used to go to Highlands, NC twice every summer when our kids were younger. Not much for kids in Highlands, so we would slip over to Maggie Valley to Ghost Town. They also had rides for the kids. Lotta fun. Glad to hear it has reopened

I read some where that Ghost Town closed again last year I hate that I used to go there when I was a kid would like to see it again.

It may have closed again Jim. Not sure as I haven't been over that way in a while. My first wife and I went there around 1971 or 1972. Enjoyed the gunfights and shootouts they had.

Yep, thats what my gps route shows.

I would guess around 11 am. Gene and I will leave here and pick up Painless around Laplace and follow I-10 to I-610 and get off on the old Chef Highway (US-90) and pass through the Rigolets to Waveland. Much better ride than I-10 on the east side of New Orleans. Taking this route it will take us about 3 hours.
