Since the weathermen are right only 41% of the time, the following probably means nothing at all:

"...JANUARY 2011: temperature 42 ° (2 ° below avg.); precipitation 4" (1" below avg.); Jan 1-4: Sunny, cold; Jan 5-10: Rain, then sunny, cold; Jan 11-22: Periods of rain and snow north, rain south; cold; Jan 23-24: Sunny, cold; Jan 25-31: Rain and snow, then sunny, cold.

Annual Weather Summary: November 2010 to October 2011
Winter will be colder than normal, with precipitation below normal in the north and above normal in the south. Most days in January will be cold, with other cold periods in early to mid-February. Snowfall will generally be above normal, with the snowiest periods in mid- and late January and mid-February..."

Hmmm. The picture of Lili is really too big, even though I downsized it when i modified my profile. I'd like to have it about half that size but my next option in editing in photobucket will be "tiny". Will that work?

We should be pretty confident 7 - 10 days in advance of the 1/29th in what the weekend weather holds in store. Bitter cold or cold and rainy would push it back to February or March. You never know down here.....could be in the 30's or 80's.

I'm still wanting to get together on the 29th. Sure hope this weather pattern makes a drastic change in a couple of weeks.

Keep us posted Mitch on the long-range weather forecast. I'd love to ride down there. Haven't cranked up my bike since the Vicksburg trip. Getting a little itchy. Don't mind cold. But it's in the 30's the last two days and around 15 last night and tonight. Gotta get warmer than that, for sure. As soon as we find out for sure, we can make reservations at a motel down there for that Saturday night, maybe. Shouldn't be too crowded that time of year down there. If it works out, looking forward to it. And thanks for the Birthday wish from you and Darlene. Jamie

Chapter 'B' in Biloxi finally announced their plans for the "24th Annual MS-B Chili Cook-Off" at Paul B. Johnson State Park south of Hattiesburg the next day, Jan 30th . I've never missed one, regardless of the weather, and I plan to make this one too. We'll have to see what the weather is like in order to make back to back rides in frosty conditions. Hopefully things will work out and we'll be able to meet up in Waveland, too.

Mitch, I have been watching the weather closely, but it's still hard to tell about the 29th. Looks like we are in for another cold weekend this weekend. I'm in a hold pattern, just waiting on the weather.

I almost forgot. Better keep an eye on the price of gas. The way it's been shooting up here, we could be close to $3.50 per gallon by then. Nothing is ever easy is it ?

Another cold weekend coming. No way to tell yet what the weekend of the 29th holds for us. It could be nice and sunny or cold and rainy. We should have a pretty good idea by Monday of next week.

Just saw an extended forecast on Accuweather.com . For January 29, sunny, high 55, low 33. Sunday, January 30, high 57, low 28. Those are forecasts for Baton Rouge, LA. Friday, January 28 is going to be wet. Extended forecast for Waveland looks about the same.

Just looked at the same forecast Frank. It shows brilliant sunshine for the weekend with the highs in the mid to upper 50's. It looks like I won't be able to spend the night in Waveland because I will have my grandson that night with my daughter and son in law out of town. Things may change.....I hope. There is plenty of things to do and nice places to stay all along the Gulf Coast. Gene, you are still planning to stay Friday and Saturday night, correct? I will pick you up somewhere between here and Lafayette on Friday. Jim (OB), are you coming down?
