Glad you and Liz are coming Watchman.

I'm leaving Lindale Thursday afternoon about 2 or 3pm. I should arrive in Antlers around 5-5:30pm. But, I can rearrange my schedule for anyone that wants to meet up for the ride up. Will probably hook up with Mitch & Darlene who will be coming up from LA. If anyone else wants to hook up, just yell out.

My proposed route:
- 69 N out of Lindale
- 37 N to Quitman
- 154/19 N through Sulphur Springs to Paris, TX
- 271 N from Paris to Antlers (bypassing Indian Nations Turnpike)

Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Trying to get time off for the ride,sounds great and a chance to meet alot of fellow riders. Question, whats the weather like in Antlers in mid October?

Getting ready for the ride to Antlers. Came home from the VROC rally in Eureka Springs and changed oil in Liz's bike and installed the new front tire on it. The rear tire still has 4/32's of tread on it but I might go ahead and change it out and keep the old tire on the rack as a back up. I have been working on the Venture trunks but a couple of projects have jumped up and I doubt that I will have the trunks ready and on the bikes before the trip. Yes I said trunks! I bought one for my bike and when Liz seen it now I have one for each bike. Have to fix a few cracks in them and get them painted. I might have to build a rack in order to put the trunk on Liz's bike. I already built a rack for my bike when I had the Vip trunk that broke to pieces. Liz has the Cobra luggage rack on her bike which looks strong enough for the trunk if I can make it work without having to drill into it or weld brackets to it. If I need to something like that I will just build her one like mine.

Since the Budget Inn has free internet access, I'll be bringing my laptop.

I want to see your trunks when we get there Jim.

Jim what year are your trunks, do you have every thing for them, I have some extra parts for an 87 Venture trunk. I hope I get mine painted in time for the ride but I don't think I will.

The trunks are 83-84 models. I have everything for them. They where cracked in several spots and repaired them with JB Weld from the inside so it doesn't show. Liz's trunk has an air brushed mural on a red trunk. The paint doesn't match the Nomad but I can have hers on her bike in about 1/2 day so most likey she will have hers on the bike in Antlers. Mine had been worked on and and already started to be sanded so I finished sanding it. I don't think I will have enough time to get it painted and mounted on the bike before the trip.

Weather here in Antlers is usually great this time of year, starts at about 55 in the morning warming to the high 70's to low 80's

Great to hear you are coming Watchman, cant wait to meet you and Liz. This is going to be a great get together, it will be great to see everybody again, this will be our first long ride since the crash coming back from Custer, and we are so looking forward to it

My wife Ann and I (Glenn) will be arriving Thursday afternoon to join the group rides on Friday and Saturday, but we'll have to head back home on Sunday.

Liz and I live east of you in Macon, Mo. But we are leaving home Tuesday before the rally and not leaving Antlers until the following Monday.
