Summer ride

I'm still ready to go. I'll call Jim in the morning about 6:30 to see if he changes his mind. If it's a high chance of storms in the morning maybe we better plan it another time. If it's hit and miss I'll ride and just take the rain suit. Up to you Jim since you have a long way to go.

I don't have any rain gear yet, so I'm hoping it won't rain where we will be riding lol

Just talked to Jim. We cancelled the ride. Just too much rain in the area.

Wise decision. It's been stormy between here and Jackson/Vicksburg for the last two weeks. More afternoon but even in the morning.

Well we still rode. Went to Natchez. It was sunny all the way down till we got just north of Natchez when a heavy shower came over. We were lucky and had a bathroom to stop at on the trace to wait it out. After 15 minutes it cleared and we rode to Fat Moma's Tamales in Natchez. It started raining lightly while we were there and it rained on us lightly for 60 miles coming back. It quit for about 20 miles then started raining again when we got back to Clinton. Overall we had a good ride ate some good food and saw a lot of deer and turkey. I never even put my rain suit on. It felt good since it cooled the weather off.

Lightning hit 2 of my pine trees in the front yard. Blew the bark of both of them in a spiral pattern from top to bottom and burnt the pine straw around the bottom of one. I thought it had hit the house with all of the noise and window rattles that came with the clap of thunder. As soon as it cools down a bit I will lay both of them down cut them up and haul them off. Both are about 75 feet tall.
