Wiring for Trailer

Where should I connect the wiring for my trailer? Is there accesory plugs under the seat or should I use a 3m scotchlock to splice into the wires?

Hoppy model #46255 powered converter gets full power to the trailer lights and protects bike electrics at the same time. Mine is mounted on the hitch with double sided tape. Harness shown on the right goes under the seat for all connections. Harness from left side goes to a 4 pin plug for connection to the trailer.

From what I've read the hoppy is important because your bike has separate wiring for brake lights and turn signals. Normally the trailer uses the same wiring for both. The hoppy makes it so you can brake and have your blinker on at the same time without the brake light overriding the turn signals on the trailer.

Would the trailer need to wire differently to use the hoppy or is the magic all done in the converter? I already wired the trailer for the standard 4 wire system.

It looks like the same thing to me. My friend just did the hoppy on his harley and also built a stabilizer bar onto his trailer. Its kind of like a shock absorber that ataches to the bike that takes the little vibrations out and he said the trailer tracks straight as an arrow. I'll snap a shot of it next time I see him and see if he's got a template if you are interested.
