Boy I'll be glad when this Hurricane season is over we got missed by gustav and I hope Ike dont hit Galveston. Being only 25 miles from Galveston it sure would ruin my day.

TF Dude, I hope the brunt of this storm misses you guys. We took a direct eye wall hit from Gustav. My power at home went out at 6:15 in the morning on 9/1 and we just got it back at 9 pm tonight. An insurance adjustor came by yesterday and surveyed my damaged roof. Looks like they will replace it all. A large pine tree broke about 25 feet up clipped the eve on my mom & dad's home. I haven't ridden or even looked at my Nomad since week before last. Been too busy at the plant and cleaning up over here any off time I get. Again, I hope it misses you all because it appears that it will be a rough one. We are beginning to see some of the outer bands of the circulation. We may have gusts up to or over 50 mph Friday. We will keep you all in our prayers. Hopefully this thing will pass over a cool eddy and die down some before landfall. Take care.

Good luck to you guys down south. I was in Biloxi in August of '69. Still remember that like it was last week.

The last update on forecast track has it headed in near Freeport, near where Alicia came in in '83. Puts texasfisherdude, Spork, ScottKelm, and I on the dirty NE quadrant. Of course there are still 2 days till expected landfall, and as much as they have revised the forecast eastward in the last 24 hours, I wouldnt be surprised to see it go in where Rita did if not even into La. again.

I'll be boarding my windows in the morning when I get off. After that it is out of my hands.

Y'all are welcome to come to the Oregon Coast. We'll get huricane force winds during the winter months, but no hurricane to go with it. Last year it ripped the taneau cover off of my truck.

Keep it safe and stay in touch when you can.

Good luck with the "cane" wishing the best for everyone down there. I have been thru many during my years in Florida, the last 2 we went thru my daughter and I rode it out on our sailboat. Be careful and keep us informed, if there is anything you all need, just shout I will do all I can

terrebone....Glad you finally have power again. Having been born and raised in Grand Isle and Thibodaux, I have run from hurricanes also. Now, living in North LA I don't think twice about it but these yankees up here get nervous when the wind blows more that 30 mph. LOL

texasfisherdude...just button up the house, jump on the Nomad and head west for a scenic ride though Big Bend. Hope all turs out well

Sue, the storm season lasts into November. Don't see this as being the last one to enter the Gulf.
