New Vaquero owner in CA
Hi folks, new Vaquero owner in CA here. Sold my Electra Glide and GL1800 this month and picked up a 2011 Vaquero new on the showroom floor a week ago. Now I'm having fun turning it into an ersatz Voyager to make the wife happy... the opposite of the process I see happening here and there in these forums (turning a Voyager into a Vaquero seems more common). Already have the passenger floorboards and Wompus rack installed, a Mustang seat on order, and an offshore HD tourpack knockoff waiting in the garage. Moving into a new bike is more work than moving into an new house!
 Like the Vaquero so far, it reminds me very much of a Road Glide... except that I don't have to worry if it'll start, unlike my Electra Glide! Edit - forgot to add that despite the complaints of heat from the 2011 Vaqs, so far I've found the heat levels less than on my Electra Glide, even on 90+ degree days. I'll probably wrap the pipes for my wife's comfort, but other than that, I intend to ride this bike until the wheels come off... Login or Register to Remove Ads

Nice intro!
I've seen a good amount of Vaqueros that have been dressed up a bit for the better half. I planned on it until my ol' lady made it clear that she was not going to be riding. Fine then, I'll dress her up the way I want her! Personally, most of the folks that I know leaving Voyagers and Vaqueros are going to Victory. Anyway, hello from Tennessee, and welcome to the forum!
