Handlebars

Does anyone know if the Vaquero has hollow handlebar ends. Looking at bar end mirrors.

If it's like the 1600's I very much doubt it does. (and I'm sure it's identical to the 1500/1600) But I could be wrong

How's that for an answer? Give me ambiguity, or give me something else

Keep in mind the VV handlebars are 1 1/4", not 1" like the 1600s. Most bar end mirrors are set up for either 7/8" or 1".

I haven't taken off my controls to confirm, but most 1.25 and 1.5 bars I've seen are still only 1.00inch where the controls and handles mount.

RACNRAY, doing the throttle mods, says the grips are the the same model number 1500 thru 1700's.

I just went and grabbed this picture. Left side is solid for sure

I learned something new today. Alot of aftermarket bars are 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" from tip to tip when the riser area is bigger than 1". I assumed (incorrectly) that this was the case with the VV. Good looking out.

The handlebars are standard size for the grips and 1 1/4 the rest of the way, I know as I put my iso grips from the 1600 on the Voyager when I purchased it. Didn't notice if the ends were plugged though

I was surprised the clamping area was larger than 1". I guess the bars are typically see are aftermarket. What I remember seeing is 1" for the clamp, 1" for the grips/controls, and larger for looks.

That's what I normally see. That's why I figured the entire thing was 1 1/4". Sort of a good thing I'm wrong. Means the VV controls will fit on my bars. Might be a relatively easy way to get some stereo controls.

Back to the topic at hand. Assuming the VV bars are the same as the 1600 bars, the only thing on the clutch side is a plug. The plug is threaded on the end so the grip cap can screw on to it. I'm sure you could cut off/grind out the welds on the plug.

I think it's do-able. I'd really like to see what you come up with!

I realize that this is an old post, but the vaquero bars are plugged at the end. I've messed with grips and controls on this bike too much already.

Bars

We make a 12" mini ape for the Vaquero, it is hollow at the end if you prefer and can be hollow at the bottom to hide your linkage. They are a "bagger" style bar and fit nicely with you stock controls. Can be made with a slight pull back or just straight. Let me know what you think!

So you don't need to extend any cables with those ?

Can you make them in chrome as well ?

I'm curious/interested as well.
Some questions: (I'm sure I'm not the only one. Which is why I'm asking here instead of PMing you)
$?
Are they functional (full turn radius)?
Do you have to extend anything (cables, hoses, wires)?
Are they 1 1/4" at the risers?
Width?
Available pull back?

Sorry for the onslaught of questions, but I am interested.
Thanks!
