Youll regret that in the spring, ;)
If you buy a used HD trunk off an Ultra it will have the light package mounted in it. Thats what Id buy if I was shopping for a trunk.

Oh believe me, I'm already regretting that one-LOL!

The HD with lights sounds good too. I'll have to really check it out before I do this.

Just treated myself to a Premeux. They will ship it in early Jan.

It's a really nice option. It is by far the easiest to install. Comes out of the box and bolts right on.

Bill,
You will be very happy with your choice! Did you opt for the built-in LED spoiler....?? Pics will be required as soon as it is installed....but you already knew that.... ;) !

If you don't mind would you share what the cost was? I've opted to try and do it the semi budget route at this point. I picked up a Scootworks rack on e-bay for $125 and a Harley trunk in what appears to be mint shape for $550. I've got a buddy with a body shop so I'm hoping paint will be reasonable to make it match my bike and then I want to add the luggage rack on top. Hoping to complete the setup for between $1100-$1200.

I don't know what Bill paid for his, but mine was about $1500.00 a year and a half ago. That included shipping from Quebec, Canada to Everett, WA, USA.

With the Premeux....for a few more $$ you save the work of having to have things painted, as it comes two-toned factory painted and pin-striped right out of the box. It also comes with the luggage rack already mounted and includes the wrap around seat pad and a really nice chrome mounting bracket. It's basically a road-ready 20 minute bolt on accessory.... !

I went the route you did. The tourpack had the rack and backrest on it already so that was a savings. Wompus rack was $200, tourpack was $500 and paint was $200.

I picked up my tour pack and scootworks rack from the parcel service today, it must have literally been a brand new takeoff. It's almost a shame to have to paint it, to bad my Nomad wasn't Black/Green! Mine has the backrest but no luggage rack.

That ought to make it easier to paint. You shouldn't have to worry about any body damage or bondoing. Just lightly scuff the paint and apply new paint.

Boy, were you right about that! I watched the offers for about a week and found one with everything on it. I mean it has the button tuck backrest, speakers, lights, cb and am/fm antenna connections (no antennas) in black (with pin stripes) for over $100 less than I almost spent at Scootworks for the basic package. Ordered twin shorty antennas for $15 each and need a lock.

So now all I have to do is to figure out how to make all that stuff work. ???
