Another tourpak option

I ran across this site today. I apologize if if has already been mentioned here. A lined, fiberglass HD King Tourpak clone for $300 looks like a good deal.

That is a nice looking trunk for the price. With the rack under $400 + shipping. Not bad.

A backrest usually isn't included with a tourpak, that would be an additional expense.

That's nice, wish they would offer it black for 3 bills.

I've been considering this one from Reckless if I can't get a decent deal on a used Harley one on E-Bay. Quite a size difference from the one the OP posted here. http://www.recklessmotorcycles.com/tourpacks.htm

That's a large trunk! I guess you have to purchase hardware and backrest from HD to finish it?

That was the basic jist of the conversation I had with Alex at Reckless last week. Said it would be compatible with the Harley hardware. My big concern at this point is the photo's look the same as the trunks I found at TJD customs and those one's get brutal reviews for quality of finish.

I've been going back and forth trying to balance to cost of this trunk over getting an actual Harley one. The big thing is with a two tone bike I will end up painting whatever I buy anyway so buying a completed one isn't saving me anything as it will get stripped anyway.

The Premeux Tour Packs come factory color two-tone painted and pin-striped right out of the box. All the hardware is installed, including the luggage rack. It even comes with a really nice chrome mounting bracket. I'm just sayin'...... ;) !

I'm looking for a larger trunk too. How much did you end up investing in the Premeux?

I like the Scootworks like Scott has but have not decided which to buy.

I think with shipping I paid about $1500.00. The nice part is that once out of the box it is a 20 minute bolt on and you are done. I did add a Chromeglow Lightbar to the rear of the trunk that had to be mounted and wired in, but everything else was user ready. I know they make a trunk with a built-in LED spoiler now....Prairie Cruiser has one. They are well built quality tour packs that are extremely user friendly....and look great right out of the box!

Tom,

I really like the Scootworks tourpak, but consider the big picture. I already had a Wompus rack, but when I added paint, the backrest, a luggage rack, and any lighting, I'm into it around $1100. Still, that's cheaper than some other options. For someone doing it from scratch and having to buy a Wompus rack, etc. The Premeux is right in the ballpark.

I have a rack for a tour pack so maybe the Scootworks is better for me. That Matusa I have on there is too small and kind of flimsy. It's ok for now, but I want a better trunk.

After Christmas I'll start looking at all the details and see what comes out.

Thanks for your inputs.

I had a Mutazu on mine for about a year and a half. It held up okay, but as you said, was very small. After the Custer rally, I decided I wanted more space and went with the larger Scootworks model.
