New sub forum?

It might just be me, but I wish that we had a specific forum for political, racist, cultural insensitive, etc. posts. Kind of like the debate forum on VROC.

I've learned to stay away from the Obama looking thread titles, but every now and then another thread catches me off guard.

It would be nice if they all weren't sprinkled among the regular posts about family, kids, jobs, etc.

The staff and I have discussed that issue several times in the past. It's been decided not to create a debate board due to the fact that it might present hard feelings between members that normally would not be there. No use in creating an area to allow members to argue in.....

I'm thinking perhaps a political/ something, perhaps just short of a debate one.

If you look around in here, there sure is a lot of what you were hoping wouldn't happen. It is just lumped in with the good morning and light threads. There is probably 5-10 of them going right now as we speak.

Putting them all in one place wouldn't "start" them, they're here now, and have been for months.

If I may......I have joined in one or two political threads and wondered if I should bother. I think if you're going to allow political, racist, cultural, insensitive,
...homophobic, misogynistic, religious, yada yada yada.. You almost need a separate forum. Just my opinion.

As we already have sub-boards, is it neccessary to have a Dom board under the fairness doctrine?

I personally don't see the need to add another, but it would be good if the "probably potentially objectionable" material from the other boards were kept to that board, and/or relocated to that board when identified.
