Yet one more Ivanize question

Hey,

Been a long time lurker and last week on a whim bought a 2014 Vaquero SE from a dealer with 10,089 miles on it (I know right?!?!) Now while I've had plenty of experience on and with my 05 1500 Fi Classic, I find myself in a new world with my Vaquero (which I'm loving)

Here's my question.... (and I've tried searching the boards but haven't found my answer) and being new to the Vaquero please forgive my lack of knowledge.

Being on a budget, I've bought and installed the Chucksters BAK and plan on sending out my ECU to Ivan next, I most likely will put new pipes on later...but that will require a new flash right? Ive read all of Ivans site about what he does with the flash but there is still a mapping component as well right? Its not like can get the flash done with stock pipes, change them later and still get all the benefit?

Thanks for the help

Squatch

Don’t think Ivans flash works on that year bike!

Get the flash done and change the pipes later is okay, but do it all at once if you can afford it.

Why wouldn't it work on a 2014 Vaquero? I had the Ivan flash on my 2014 Nomad and that's the same bike minus some tupperware. As far as I know, it works on ALL 1700s.

The difference in the flashs is either stock or aftermarket intake.
The exhaust doesn't matter.
So if you flash it for a BAK, you can change the exhaust later and not have to have it re-flashed.
If you take the BAK off and go back to stock then you would have to have it re-flashed.

I would get the exhaust on first, then fill out the forms and send it that way to Ivan. And yes, the 2014 model can be flashed. He flashed my 2012 S.E. and with the Chuckster's intake, and Freedom true duals, made mine run real good.

The 2104 is not flashable just yet, but the 2014 is.
If I remember correctly it is the BAK that requires the" _BAK " flash regardless of the pipes. Although most change pipes too.

Ask Ivan

Exactly. I have the same setup (Chuckster's BAK and Freedom TD exhaust) except mine is a 2014 Vaq and is the orange one like the one which Ivan also used per his web site. I wasted money on Dynajet and PCV FI units before I got Ivanized. Never could stop the backfire with the FI units. Once Ivanized, it has never backfired again, ran a lot better and peppier and cooler. Best money spent on the bike. I got the first reprogram in 2016 and then also got the free upgrade in 2019. I have not heard anyone say anything about Ivan's reprogramming.

@cubicle51 (Nice moniker btw). No, you will not a different flash when you add the pipes. Engage! Get IVANS and have fun!

Congratulations and Welcome from Eastern Iowa!

Ride safe,
Smokier
