Leave in on and hooked up until you're ready to ride again.
++ 100!

Just because you locked the ignition and walked away with the key, don't mean everything is turned off...

And then thin air is a semi conductor as it containes water. So a battery on a shelf is using volts... well mili volts, but that with time will draw..

The auto float keeps the battery charged, 'warmed up' so to speak.

As soon as I come back from a ride I hook that sucker to the pigtail. When the green light comes on just leave it plugged in. When riding I just stuff mine under the left side of the seat. Sometimes it comes out and hangs but doesn't do any damage to the bike.

Gene yup... other than my pig tail exits ahead of the seat in the wire loom made of steel, where other hoses are located, way out of sight. I have the latest anti sulfation auto float charger on that batter now and it has been since winter storage. In season I use it after any rides.

I want 8 years + off that battery.

Same as Doc and the rest . Tuck it top of the right cover. Leave it on the tender all the time.

It sat on my tender for the last 6 weeks...went out today and it fired up on the first try!
