Indiana/Ohio/Pennsylvania BAD weather....

Everyone ok? We had a tornado touch down up here. Damaged 2 grocery stores, an Arbys and destroyed a drive in restaurant. Bunch of trees down, cars flipped, trees on cars, couple mobile homes off their foundations, etc. Two with minor injuries but thankfully no deaths. I was at work and the concrete buildings and bullet proof glass at the prison meant I was pretty safe.

How did everyone else fare?

Thanks, Brad.

Interesting ride today. I started out on the back roads (like I normally do) and after the 5th or 6th tree/large branch in the middle of the road, I decided to get back on the 4 lane for the trip back home. I tooled through town. The west side was a mess. Thank God nobody died. "Stuff" can be replaced although I might have to head to an alternate grocery store for a few weeks.

We've had much of the same. No tornadoes in my area but just north of us. The storm two days ago damaged a building close to work in Columbus, caving the roof and injuring 6. I think the radio said it has rained in the Columbus area everyday since June 20th to yesterday. It's been the damned wettest few weeks I've ever experienced with strong storms nearly daily. Still plenty in the area without power.

Glad to hear you're ok.

They forgot the portapotty, plumber63. Unfortunately, when I see a buried school bus, the only thing I think of is the kidnapping incident back in the '80s ('70s?) where the guy had all those kids in a buried bus.

That's the 1st thing that came to my mind when I saw that, also.

FYI, Chowchilla, CA.

I had to look that up 1976 , I was only 12 when that happened and don't remember it. If I had I wouldn't have posted it.

My brother still doesn't have power from Wednesday's storm. He had 6 trees come down on his property. Talked to my dad and he said he may get power back in the next day or so.
