180/65 fits the Voyager so it should fit the Vaquero

So this is a wider tread with shorter sidewall than stock?

Wider tread yes, but the sidewall measurement is an aspect ratio not an actual number, meaning the height is a percentage of the width.
So, just because that number is less than the stock one doesn’t necessarily mean it is shorter, because its actual measurement is dependent on the width of the tire, which in this case is wider than stock. So, 65% of 180=117mm and 70% of 170 is 119mm, the difference of 2mm is nothing to even blink an eye at in this case.

If I remember correctly the commander also helps the speedometer be more accurate. But I may have Miss-Remembered

Feeding the data into the site mentioned above your post confirms what I have found. The Commander II actually INCREASES the error by 1.7%. That is why I wish the Commander II came in 160/80/16 like the E3. I prefer that size for handling and speedo correction, but the E3's got noisy and do not wear as well for me as the Michelins.

The Commander II is a great all around tire and did help my speedometer be more accurate. I run the 180/65B/16 on my 2015 Vaquero.

Who needs a speedo on a bike ?
For me, it is just a guess-o-meter, to know, when I will break through the sound barrier ! Cu, Sven
