We had a fairly nice ride early on today cept for a purty serious headwind and lotsa gusts. Just pullin in the clutch had the skoot slowin down like right now!

All was good till it started to rain while havin lunch in Labelle, and cept for maybe about 10 minutes total it rained the whole 130 miles home. YUK!

I was so close to the next mileage milestone but was so done with the ridin for the day, the last 18 miles will hafta wait...

1-24-16 ride

Yesterday's ride started off with what might be a once in a lifetime experience. Ray and I were at our meeting spot, I just put my phone away after takin some pics. I looked up and coming down the southbound lanes of US 27 was a Cessna bout 20 feet above the pavement. Took me a second or 2 to realize what I was seein! Dead engine, prop not turnin and gliding in for a landing! I hurredly opened up my saddle bag to grab my phone and shoot some pics. Got a couple of pics as it was coasting away from us, then saw it pull over off the road!!! Man o man I never seen this before cept on TV! I called FHP to report a plane landin on US 27 and we headed out for a our ride. The emps started out at 43 dg but with my heated vest and some layers I was snug as a bug in a rug! Turned out to be a friggin great ride, abosolutley fantastic weather, not a cloud in the sky. Coming back thru Clewiston in the afternoon the bank temp/times display said 62 dg, PERFECT! Total miles for this day for me was 357 mls, and I crossed another mileage milestone on my way to the 100 k mark. Thanx Ray for a greta ride, you are like me a ridin MOFO!!!

Zee plane, zee plane...

Had to stop to click this one...had another 87 more miles at the end of the day.

Dammitt Ray, that is cheating. In order to qualify as a high mileage rider you need to actually ride the bike on the road, not running it at 120 mph on a roller just to spin the odometer up.

Just finished the tuning with a new fuel pump and MAN O MAN I fabricated a damn fine intake system!!!

88.03 H.P. and 107.97 pnds tork in the INDUSTRY STANDARD SAE CORRECTION FACTOR.

Using the old out of date STD correction factor that some dyno operators erroneously use to show even higher numbers it's got 90.35 H.P. and 110.81 pnds tork.

This is the best this skoot ever had, and at friggin 95,000 miles.

YIPPIE!!! Cant wait to ride it!!! :)

Damn.....great dyno numbers for those miles and going, going, going, with no stopping in sight. Awesome. I guess that gives us 1700 riders a lot to look forward to.

Those are REAL dyno numbers using the proper correction factor for the USA. It still troubles me today that some dyno shops use the outdated STD correction factor. THE ONLY REASON that ANY dyno shop shows power and torque in the STD correction factor is that STD always shows higher numbers than SAE. I call it the penis extension correction factor.

Even now well known and supposedly highly respected shops are still using and displaying their dyno results/accomplishments in the STD format and really, they shouldn't be. They are hoping to impress the "not knowing" with the higher than the norm numbers.
