Oil? These things have oil in them?

I close to being on pace with you, but that two or three months of "oh crap it's cold" does cut into my road time! I'm coming up on 15k and haven't had Black Magic for a year yet.

Good looking work Ray.

Glad to see someone get lots of miles in, wish it were me. Our riding season without heated clothing is about 6 months. I will get about 7-8,000 in this year.

Hey Ray, what is required for the 15k or 17.5k (whichever is a big one) mile service? I can't seem to find my darn manual anywhere. I'm beginning to think my wife deleted it when she used my computer after breaking hers. I'm wondering about valve adjustments or anything more involved than oil/coolant changes.

The 1700's have hydraulically adjusted valves so no clearance checking/adjusting is required.

Performing a complete thorough disassembly of the skoot to gain access to fasteners for checking their tightness, a general lube of all the pivot points and throttle cables, flushing and bleeding the front, rear beake and clutch systems, check the brake pads for wear, oil & filter & coolant change, checking steering head bearing condition and play, clean the air fillter(or replace it) and the throttle bores/plates, check drive belt tension, check tire pressures and wear, check the wibblin pins also.

HOPE THIS HELPS

That's what I recommend to do. Kawi also recommends to lube the swingarm and steering head bearings bearings @ 15,000 mls.

Just don't forget those wibblin pins.
