I have never changed the coolant in any car or truck I have owned.
I have never had a problem resulting from not changing the coolant in any car or truck I have owned.
I don't see it making any difference if it is a car , truck, or motorcycle.

All these years spending money on antifreeze oil, transmission fluid,and brake shoes, that could have more wisely been spent on liquor and hookers.

Tim, I just don't know what to say.

Tim has somewhat of a point. Some cars don't require (according to owner's manual) coolant change for 60,000 miles or more. So why do bikes?

I did change my Nomad coolant at 18k and only have 24k so I am not ready to follow Tim off that cliff quite yet.

I have seen many examples of cars getting the "pink milkshake"..when a tranny fluid line runs through the radiator and the radiator is so corroded that the tranny line bust open mixing coolant in the tranny and tranny fluid into the radiator. Costing thousands.

I have a 4Runner with that design but I had a radiator shop bypass the radiator and just install an old fashion tranny cooler....a little preventitive measure.

You may be able to get away with a 60k coolant change, if you rode the bike a lot a racked up the miles in say 3-4 seasons, but for most of us it takes quite a while to reach 60k and for what it costs, refreshing the coolant is a cheap procedure.

Ive seen vehicles that have mixed the trans fluid with antifreeze, it makes a mess, and takes a lot of flushing.

Me neither Loafer. I'm trying to think of something sarcastic and mean as hell so it will be on a level he can understand.

I'm still in shock......
I buy a new car and then drive it for 6-10 years. Mileage is not a factor, car reliability is. If
a car starts to cost me extra in repairs or starts breaking down, I trade as soon as it is paid
off. If it is not costing a lot to own I will keep it for as long as 10 years.
Maintainance of the hoses and belts and changing the fluids does help to keep things going nicely.
