Looking for a Vaquero or Voyager

Hi. I am new to the forum. I have been lurking for a little while and doing a bunch of research. This site is amazing. After riding Harley, Triumph, and Yamahas, I am ready to purchase a used (new to me) Kawasaki. I am on the hunt for a Vaquero or Voyager. I am located in Jacksonville, NC and am willing to travel within a reasonable distance. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum from Northern California and good luck with your search
You will be very happy with either choice you make.
I am very happy with the Voyager I just picked up a month ago.

If you are looking at older Voyagers I would lean towards the ones that have the KAMS (Kawasaki Air Management System) and ABS brakes. The KAMS can be added but it would not be a cheap upgrade. Do your research on the heat issue for Voyagers before the KAMS was introduced.

Thank you for the welcome. I actually just moved here from Southern California a few weeks ago.

I have looked at a 2011 Vaquero locally that I think is a fairly good deal at $8250 with 11k miles, Vance and Hines exhaust, 12" windshield, Passenger backrest, floorboards and Dobeck tuner. I am just wondering if the Voyager may be better for putting some miles under me, plus it seems it comes with a few bonus items that are nice over a Vaquero. I am not in a huge hurry, I just want the right bike for me.

I love the trunk on my Voyager! So much more handy than the saddlebags for everyday stuff.

I passed up on a brand new 2013 Vaquero matte black in Picayune MS at Cycle Shack. He's down around $13.2k and I would ask for another $1k off and/or accessories. It's still there I'm sure; this was a 3 weeks ago.

Greetings and Welcome!

If you bought a Voyager, would you them change your moniker to Voyager Waves?
(It was funny inside my head)....

Happy shopping and ride safe,
Smokier

Welcome to the site..........I've test ridden both bikes (2011 if I remember right) and at 5'9" the Voyager seemed to "fit" me a bit better. I like the looks of both bikes.
