Heated gloves / Driver solo backrest

Hello everyone. Winter will be before you know it, and I'm not one of those who hangs the keys up until Spring. i ride year-round, and need to get my hands (get it? ) on a set of wired gloves. I would prefer the whole harness that plugs into the battery, but can purchase those separately. BTW, I hate ebay. I was bidding on a Gerbing set for $65 (all wires included) and had the high bid for 3 days. Someone outbid me with 3 seconds to go. i didn't get my new bid entered in time. they won. AAARRRGGG!

I also need a driver solo backrest. I have an 01 1500 (Nomad). Donations are happily accepted as well.

Hey Bama, for online purchases try Amazon - they have everything ebay has, including many of the same vendors, without the bidding and sniping. You are certainly thinking ahead for heated gloves so soon. I was given a set of Firstgear glove LINERS for father's day that I have yet to test drive...almost looking forward to cooler weather (almost). The gloves are part of an expandable system that includes a jacket liner, pant liners and boot liners. They all clip to each other and into a single harnesses to plug into the battery with a wireless thermostat. So far I only have the glove and jacket liners and I believe that's all I'll need but good to know I can expand if desired. I'm not sure of the cost (it was a gift afterall) but the liners gotta be less than full gloves or jackets would be. While you're shopping be aware of expandability, whether you'd be able to share cables and thermostats between future additions.

I cried because I had no heated gloves...until I meant a man who had no fingers.

I have pair of the Gerbing heated gloves. Couldn't do without them when the temps get down in to the 30's. Between them and the engine guard chaps I should be able to ride off and on during the winter if the Old Farmer's Almanac isn't right this year.

trick to ebay is bid what you are willing to pay for a item and if it goes for more than that you have no regrets

After my old gloves pooped out last winter, I bought a pair of these. Great gloves and makes those cold rides much more enjoyable!

I was jealous of your post Maxx, but this morning I feel better. I just won an ebay auction (i sniped someone else) for a pair of black leather XL gerbing heated gloves with all wiring, new with tags, for $75. I didn't wait until 3 seconds like someone did me though. I bid at 3 mins and gave them a chance to bid back. Take that sniping bastards from yesterday!

Before long there will be a skull cap and jock strap with heated wires too! Hey, I say that if someone has the funds, and the gear allows them to ride, why not!?! I was able to get the gloves, and I would like to have a vest too. However, since I just bought a Wilson's Leather bike vest about a month ago, I don't think the wifey will go for a new heated vest. I just need a set of lowers for the windshield and another set for the highway bars, and as Maxx said, I'll be golden when the temp drops.

I rode all last winter (when it was above 40) without any heated gear and the only thing really uncomfortable was my hands - so you covered the most important thing. I bet you'll be just fine.

ps, I will be doing some kind of crash bar chap before it gets too chilly. That wind get's incessant.

Good price. Glad you were able to get them.

I know you said that you got all of the wiring. I'm just checking to make sure that you got either an on/off switch or a controller with them.

The temp switch is more expensive. So you got a really good deal on that setup.
