I also added my Sirius Starmate-3 radio to it so I can rock no matter where I'm at.

Does Hoppe still make that Tailgunner? I couldn't find it on their website.

No. Unfortunatly Hoppie stopped making them when they went into full time production on the Harley looking batwing faring that people are buying. When I questioned John Hoppie about this wonderful product that I enjoy, he told me that he gets requests but never any orders and that people tell them that they want them but the last time he offered them, they took forever to sell.

I personally think that everyone who is interested should call him and offer to put up a deposit to show good faith and maybe he will produce 20 or 30 of them for sale. It is really a great product and one that I enjoy every time I ride...

The GPS has a 5vdc hardwire leading from the power supply for the satelitte radio but can be moved from my car to the bike in about 10 seconds. See http://www.bulldogsbike.com/nomadmods.htm#miogps for more details. I move the GPS from my car to my truck to my bike all the time. Same goes with the Sat radio. One radio (and subscription) and I enjoy it in my car, in my truck and on the bike.

OK, so I'm a cheap bastard... :-*

So how much is the tailgunner if we were going to commit to buy?

When they sold them around 5 years ago, they went for around $400-$500 IIRC. I purchased mine used from a guy who upgraded from a Tailgunner to a Hoppie fairing with radio and then went to a Harley Ultra Classic. Seeing how scarce they were and how much I wanted it, I didn't save much...

Since then, I've only seen one on the market. But I would call Hoppie and request that they put them back into production on a limited run.

I contacted Hoppe Industries sales dept today and was told this was called the Radio King, and they quit producing them about 5 years ago, when they started concentrating on the Quadzilla fairing. I asked them if maybe they had one in the back of the warehouse they could sell me. Still waiting to hear back on that. I found domething similar on eBay, but don't know if it will work. Crazy Biker.

Hey bulldog,

I went to the Hoppe Industries website and all I can find are the Quadzilla fairings with the audio system. I have been looking for what you have on yours, just the stereo and speaker set up. Where did you find that on their site?

Read the previous messages on this page. Hoppe Industries no longer makes or sells them.

I just got a new/used Stiletto 2 Sirius Radio from Ebay. This new model allows for live broadcast or you can record and then play back the broadcast. You can get four hours of battery time, if you listen live or you can use a 12 volt power supply. There are numerous ways to use this item, it is small and compact. I will get a second battery to carry, thus 8 hours of time and can use ear plug speakers with a external antenna/ or use the headset that is included, which also serves with a built in antenna.

I just ordered one of these. I will plug my satellite radio direct into it, should work ok. I think I can mount the head unit right on my windshield bag, it looks very small. Have to wait and see about how good the speakers are.

2x3 Watt usable output power? You won't be able to hear it with the engine running.

Here is what you want if you don't mind mounting stuff to your bars.

I bought a kit with fm radio like OP is talking about and I like it. The speakers for the money are great. The radio work good to it just doesn't have a memory on it. Every time you start it you have to reset it, but for the money it is hard to beat. I mounted mine in a leather bag attached to the windshield and the speakers on the handle bar. You can play a mp3 player thru it to.
