Marines and Motorcycles Video

This is an excellent video and well worth watching.

I really liked the comment made by one of the riders, "You're an idiot if you don't wear the gear."

Thanks Yellow Jacket. I seen a show on tv lately about military guys coming back and buying a crotch rocket and then no training and crashing.

A local boy was on leave from Iraq when he was killed after crashing his bike. I'm not sure what kind of bike he was riding, but from what I heard he was traveling at a high rate of speed. Hard to imagine surviving the horrors of war only to meet your demise riding foolishly a few miles from home.

It is hard to imagine going through what some of them have faced to end-up with such an ending.

These kids are young ; and many have gone through hell... thus their "peak" levels are set rather high causing them to push-the-limit in life in many ways.

Bob, thanks for posting the info. Glad to see a program addressing this and trying to help out.

Unfortunately, as fast as some of these kids go on these bikes; there isn't clothing manufactured that will save them -- only common-sense and discipline will help... and I think that program helps provide that.

Good film. I work with Navy and Marine Casualty. For awhile it was the fifty something riders getting the Harleys they wanted that were crashing but with the renewed popularity of the sport bikes the young ones have caught up and passed us old farts. I found it interesting that one of the experts said that if you really want to learn to handle a bike learn to ride dirt. That is how I learned and it has saved me multiple times in the past 30+ years.

Excellent. Don't have that much interest in dirt bikes any more and would never have a street rocket but still some great advice for everyone. The stats on young street rocket rides is not good.

Thanks Yellow Jacket, I too believe in armour and proved it in a crash over 80K with 15000 dollars damage on my bike ( wrote off ) and I never even had a bruse. IWILL NOT ride with out armour!!! Eithor full joe rocket gear from head to toe or the Bohn system of under garmets with armour. Again thanks
