International Motorcycle Show

Anyone planning on heading to the show? It is the weekend of December 16th to 18th. This year it is in the convention center in downtown Seattle. I'm going to try to go on Saturday the 17th.

Charlie,
I will be joining another local VBA guy and a couple of his buds Saturday morning for breakfast then heading down. We are going to try and ride if it is decent out. I will call you when we are there, I would like to introduce you to him. He and his wife will be riding up to Canmore with us next summer.

Sorry I missed out. Worked OT today. Will probably stay home tomorrow and not go.

It was a clusterf*ck at the new venue. To start, it was a nightmare getting into the parking garage, but we finally did. I rode down with about 7 other guys. 3 of them had printed pre-purchased tickets. The other four of us went to buy ours at the ticket window and the line was 45 minutes to an hour long. One guy left on the spot, while the rest of us scratched our heads. They said we could use our smart phones to buy tickets and they would scan them right on our phones, but that didn't work either. We said f*ck it and left without ever going in.

The old venue at the Exhibition Center was great and it only took a couple minutes to buy tickets. The Washington State Convention Center sucked and I cannot believe they only had like one or two ticket sellers. The line looked like a Disneyland ride...unbelievable. It was so nice out that while the 3 guys who had tickets went in....the other 3 of us went riding instead.

I sent an email to the show sponsors voicing my displeasure. It was EPIC FAIL on their part and I let them know about it.....

That's too bad Kris!! Sorry to hear that. Maybe you'll make it up here to ours in February. I'll let you know if you want.

Popping in, if I may. Now that Cycle World isn't sponsoring the shows anymore. I'm wondering if that would be the reason for the fail? In '06 I went to NYC for the show and wait time was over 2 hours to get in. We had the tickets already in hand. But the crowd was enormous. Just wondering.

Thanks for the tip Kris. My brother and I attended the show today. Thanks to your input we printed our tickets ahead. We found parking quickly and everything went smooth. Too bad nothing really reached out and excited me....but my brother is pretty hot for the CAN AM RTS Limited.

Glad you guys had a good time. I would have liked to have seen the show, but oh well....maybe next year. I wasn't about to wait in line for an hour when it was that nice out. It was 50 degrees and sunny...something that never happens in Seattle in December...so riding was a good thing too! Too bad nothing really floated your boat. Had I been there with you, I would have told your brother to step away from the Can Am...and keep his hands where I could see'em..... Friends don't let friend's ride those things...I'm just sayin'....

I think going for a ride was the better choice anyways.
