2006 NAD SOUND SYSTEM

HAS ANYONE PUT A SOUND SYSTEM ON THERE BIKE? I HAVE A 2006 NAD AND IT IS REALLY PRICEY TO BUY THE SPEAKER SYSTEMS THE BIKE SHOPS HAVE TO OFFER. AND IT DOESNT EVEN COME WITH A STEREO. CAN U PUT A REGULAR CAR STEREO IN. HELP

Yeah, it's called an iPod...:) There used to be a Radio Caddy that bolted to the windshield, but I have not seen them in a while. It was completely self contained. Actually, there are bluetooth communication devices that allow integration with iPods, GPSes, Mobile phones etc. With a good set of in ear canal earbuds, you'll be set.

I've seen amplified speakers, and speakers connected connected to an amp on friends' machines. A google search for Motorcycle Speakers will get you lots of hits. I saw one set that is advertised as waterproof with a bikini-clad demonstrator dunking the speaker in the pool repeatedly while it plays. I'm planning on going the iPod route myself, since my wife & daughter have them already what's one more? I would consider XM, but I have a fundamental objection to paying for radio.

Send an email to the guy listed above. I purchased a fiberglass module w/radio and speaker from him a couple of years ago and it is still going strong. He installed an am/fm/mp3/cd player with a removable faceplate. Also has a wireless controller (which I never use), good sound. Ron can send you photos etc. for you to look at. I mounted mine on the handlebar behind a 2003 HD fairing, which is mounted on my '05 Nomad 1600. I have never had a problem with it and it works as good and the day I installed it.

I run a set of amplified Rumble Road speakers with an MP3 player... Works quite well and I can hear the tunes clearly on the hwy at 80 mph...

I mounted a marine stereo with a remote control in my left saddle bag and took 2 spotlight housings and mounted 4"speakers in them and clamped on the handlebars behind the windshield. Sound great at any speed.The CD player skipped so I put all my music on an MP3 player and plugged into the aux input of the stereo.I mounted the remote on the gas tank to the left of the ignition .Mounted there you can control the radio bands and the volume.The remote has a LCD display that shows stations .I put this together for around $200 dollars

Havent tried them mtpockets, but I might look into them for my next helmet.

While I wait for dear Daughter and my Bride to get around to buying me an iPod for some future gift-giving event, I went to Wallyworld before I went out riding today and bought a Sony Walkman AM/FM/TV/Weather receiver. I dont like the usual iPod style earbuds, but I found a pair of JVC earphones that insert similar to earplugs and they proved to be just the ticket. Having some tunes on made the ride even more enjoyable.
