Trunk mount option

I'm going to monut a trunk (sometime). I got a kaw trunk off ebay & saw a voyager trunk mount so i bid on it i got it for $23 total. I was hoping it would work & it does. The wideth is the same as the struts on the nomad so all i had to do is make a couple plates to attach it.This is what i have so far.

Jeffm, are you going to reinstall the grab bars? I went with the Venture trunk I bought off of Ground Hog. I fabricated brackets and trunk mount so I could still keep the grab bars for the wife.

No i wont be able to. I wanted to locate the trunk as low as possible. I used to have the small grab bars on 1500 & i think i might be able to mount those on the plates i made. I will know more when i get it mounted & see how she likes it. She likes the grab bars when we cross r/r tracks , not sure if she will miss them or not. I would like to mount some chrome there if there's room just to break up the look of the plates.

Ya lower would be better for most. The wife likes the height of mine and I added some armrests that I fabricated today.

I'll put it this way my wife could not ride on the stock pillion anymore than 50 miles and she was ready to walk the rest of the ride. I could not ride more than 50 miles without having to stop for a butt break. Now we can ride until we have to stop for fuel without any problem. We rode from the Houston,TX area to Abilene,TX via Dallas,TX with no problems at all. That trip was about 400 miles one way. The only thing I wished was that I would of had the backrest installed for when I am solo riding.

Hey, Kevin; do you have the armrests where one or both folds out of the way? It appears you do, but I couldn't tell for sure from the pics.
