I did it!

Today I became the extremely proud owner of a brand new, 2007 Vulcan 1600 Nomad in metallic diablo black. The dealer gave me a very decent trade-in on my 2005 C50T. The 14 mile ride home from the dealer was exhilerating! The difference between the 2 bikes is like comparing a Chevy to a Cadillac. Nothing against the Boulevard, it is what it is. The Nomad shifts so smoothly and doesn't "clunk" into gear, and that big v-twin doesn't even breathe hard in city traffic. This is the start of a long, beautiful relationship.

I've been lurking around here for several days, reading up n what Nomad owners had to say about their bikes, and only created an account yesterday to ask a few questions and discuss fishing with one member. A large part of my decision to go Nomad was based on what I've read here. Thanks to all of you! I hope to see some of you around and do some riding.

Oh, and thanks for the hearty welcomes to the forum.

Way to go CJ! Are you ever going to be a happy man! That Nomad will tend to want to get away from you on the highway. If I don't keep an eye on the speedo, it's up into noman's land very quickly! AZ aint too far away for our west coast get...

Awesome news CJ....!! I just brought home a sweet 2001 FI Nomad today, and dodged a few t-storms up here in Minnesota for about a 2 hour ride tonight. The Nomad is just a little different than the VF700C Magna I've been driving.....Holy Crap! What a nice ride!

Same move I made up from a C50. They're both good values.

Good deal CJ. You're hooked now for sure. ::)
Cousin of mine has an ebony black Nad and a red
HD/UC. Rides the Nad on trips and the HD for
short rides. Tells you something right there.
Ride safe,
Dano

Took the Nomad out for its first real ride this morning, did about 100 miles, driving under break-in conditions. All I can say is she's all I hoped for and then some. Smooth ride, more power than I could ever imagine. The transmission is so quiet, you can barely hear it change gears. The stock seat is extremely comfortable. I am so happy I made the move!

Congrats cactusjack! I had my 600 mile break-in maintenance completed on Friday. The wife and I just got back from taking our 2007 its first overnight voyage. We had an awesome time. I am around 850 now

Congrats. It's an awesome ride, night and day compared to anything else I've ridden. You'll be happy with it.
