Question Air breather question

Hello new member.
I have a question, I own a 1999 Vulcan Nomad vn1500g
My question is , Is it possible to run a single air filter other than the set up on stock bike ? With those dog bowel looking air box covers . Makes no sense carb is on the right, But yet filter is on left and passes between both cylinders before entering carb .
Also has anyone done this?
How did you do it , and what parts did you use ?
Can a hypercharger work on this bike ?
Basically I'm asking what I need ( part wise to only run one one filter on carb side of bike )
Any help is appreciated.

I had a 2002 Vulcan 1500P meanstreak and what you have to do is remove both bowls from each side, then cut the crossover tunnel going from the left side to the right side and plug it off. You can then purchase a Baron's tear drop intake and bolt it onto the right side for direct air flow and that one makes the absolute best power for that motor, and is slim and out of the way of your right leg, and easy to service when it comes time for a cleaning and oiling. When I got mine the kit also came with a complimentary pair of block off plates to put in place of the reed valves on both cylinders, having removed the entire smog system off. When you do this there is on little vacuum hose that will need a plug that goes from the smog plumbing into the throttle body. All of this will make the engine run smoother and better. Make sure those plates have a little permatex sealer when going on to prevent air leaks.
