2012 NorthCentral Regional Rally Ideas

Have an idea for an NCR rally next summer? Let's hear your suggestions!!

I'm heading to north Michigan on next Monday and scout a little. Then I'll take a preliminary ride during this Fall and get better acquainted with the state. My cousin who lives in MN now used to live in Michigan said the scenery is fantastic there.

From everything I have read and people I have talked to they say Northern Michigan is a great place to ride. Roads are in good condition and not to much traffic. I will be taking a ride up there this Fall to check it for myself.

Just arrived at Escanaba, MI about 7:30 last night. Drove 579 miles to get here.

Stopped to visit the Packers stadium, Lambeau Field, in Green Bay, WI. A lot of history there. I got a photo of Donna wearing a Cheesehead.

We had supper at the Hudson's Classic Grill here in Escanaba. A fun place, good food, and lots of it. Everyone is friendly.

Roads are good along the coast of Lake Michigan with little traffic. Not many trucks. Not very curveybut pleasant to drive on. Only glimpses of the lake as we are driving. We are having perfect weather.

Today I meet my new (to me) motorcycle!

My wife Melody will be jealous of you & Donna. That is a place she has been wanting to visit for a very long time.

The Temps here have reached into the hi 90's, unless it gets a bit cooler the Nomad will stay in the garage.

Temps here started at 67 degrees and stayed low all day. Very pleasant!

Drove over the Mackinac Bridge both ways today. It is very high and about 25 ft shy of five miles long. Depth of the water under the bridge is almost 300 ft. Toll was $5.25 each way for the Blazer and trailer. I got fuel near the bridge and it was $4.09 for high test.

I like my new bike so much that awhile ago I went and sat on it for about 20 minutes here at the parking lot of the motel. That was not so unusual, except that it was tied down in the trailer!

It seems the mid-west must be boring as it's hard to come up with any ideas outside of the Black Hills or PDC area. ;) May be we should have it in another region. Shoot, may be Canada?

I like the idea of traveling both sides of the Mississippi while branching eastward or westward to interesting roads and places. Probably stay at two or three different motels in the process.
It sounds interesting to me!

dave that sounds like a good idea alot to do along the mississippi poopys in fulton ill they have a wind mill the still grinds grains and many others im likeing this idea

I've heard there is a brewery in Dickeyville. ;)
