I will be going to the darkside soon. I got the tire a goodyear assurance tripletred 205/60R16. my question is what are you all running on the front? this is a radial tire so the front should also be a radial correct? oh yeah my bike is a 2005 1600 nomad.
Thanks for the assistance

A 205 will fit.
Im running a Dunlop bias ply on the front, but to me it doesn't matter so much. I think either radials or bias ply are ok.

You shouldn't have to run a radial on the front. I am not a darkside member but my rear tire m/t is radial and the front is bias. No problems with the ride or handling.

It is OK to run bias front and rear
radial front and rear
radial rear and bias front
but your not supposed to run a bias rear and a radial front.

I run the Goodyear TripleTred in a 205/60-16 on the rear, I think I was the first on this forum to go to it. I didn't get to ride much during 2010, but have over 8,000 miles on it, and you can barely measure the wear on it. I would have already replaced it if it were a MC tire. But to answer your question about "which front tire we are running with the GYTT", I run the Avon Cobra radial in the stock size, and have about 15,000 miles on it. I will probably get another 3,000 or so out of it.

OK thank you guys. I'm just as confused now as I was before I started. I think I will flip a coin on Radial or Bias.

It may fit, but I personally wouldn't install one. The rims on the 1500's are only 3 1/2" wide whereas the 1600's have a 4 1/2" rim. It would probably be more difficult to get a 205 on the rim.
That was the main reason I used the Vredestein Comtrac tire, its only a 175 width.

Check this link Tom, it should help.
http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...foTireMath.jsp

Also take a look in our tech section further down the page, we have a section there on darkside tires.

I'm pretty sure that the largest tire that will fit into the swing arm on a 1500 is a 195 wide tire.

I bought a Grand Spirit touring 205/65r/16 and it would not fit it is a little to wide. I had a sp2000 195 65r 16 and I thought it was a good ride I had about 13000 when I replaced it
