Hurricane Ian

My sister and brother in law have not contacted me since Hurrican Ian made landfall last Wednesday. They were renting a house in the Rotonda area of Englewood very close to where the hurricane made landfall. I have heard the power has been out since the storm hit. Anyone on the forum have a property or family in that area for an update ?

Englewood is north of the worst hit areas still a lot of damage. Ft Myers,Sanabel, Northport, Naples very hard hit. Been here over 50 years one of worst if not worst I've ever seen..Older now and don't have to work the effective areas but former working friends say it's terrible.

Thanks for the update. I am presuming they were in Englewood as that is where they rented for the last 10 years or so. They are on holiday from the U.K. They could have been staying in one of the areas you stated, Ft Myers etc. Emails have gone unanswered and texts have not been delivered indicating they have no power or their devices were lost, or they can't physically respond. I have filled out an online missing persons report but not knowing their exact address to direct emergency services for a wellness check I am probably not going to get a response.

All they have to go on is a phone number of their cell phone, and their names.

I heard from my sister this afternoon. They are okay. They were without power from Wednesday to Sunday and still have no internet but the cell phone service resumed today.
