Waving Vance & Hines slip on question

If all I swap is the stock mufflers for slip ons, will I need to install a power commander as well? Leaving the stock air filter for now.

Thanks..

PS. Its for a 2014 Vaquero ABS SE. My new baby

I would say "NO". I have a buddy with Cobra slip-ons and a K&N air filter with no fuel processor - performs great! Without changing the air filter, you won't be able to take advantage of the extra flow from the pipes anyway so no real need to add additional fuel in my opinion.

There will ALWAYS be an advantage both in performance and mpg by having a skoot "tuned" after the installation of s/ons, especially in the throttle position/rpm areas where the a/f mixture has been compromised(leaned out) by Kawi to meet our emission regs.

But will you "need" to, that depends on how the engine responds to the s/ons. If you DO NOT feel any surging, hesitations, or any negative aspects of performance then there is not the need to tune.

I have a customer with a Vaq with K&N filter an V&H s/ons, he is happy.
