Ivan flash with stock air

Has anyone done the Ivan flash using stock air and aftermarket pipes and later decided to upgrade the air after the fact? If so, did you need to reflash it again or did it run just fine?

Ivan told me with an aftermarket air kit you should send the ecu in again and he will do it for free. Another member here said he didn't send back in and was running fine However.

I believe that Ivan's enhancement was designed to work with stock setup or adding the big 3. He ask for your setup for record keeping not programming.

But there are some rides that ping with the big 3 so he increased the fuel parameters slightly. As posted Ivan will reprogram it for free should it ping.

My setup with the big 3 runs just fine on regular gas (Ivan says run premium) no ping weather running hard or pulling a trailer

I just added the BAK from Chucksters and have no pinging but I have only been able to ride it twice because of all the rain we are getting. I will see how it does when the weather warms up this summer when climbing long grades.

JD Hog, have you ordered open style of Chuckster's BAK or that keeping stock covers?

If one reprograms one's ECU as if using both aftermarket Air kit and slip-ons and then (for time&need to be quiet) installs stock exhaust, would the engine work correct, providing the same power with no pinging or popping?

Eugene, I have the BAK that uses the stock air cleaner cover. It looks stock still but is fully opened behind the cover.

I had my ECU done when the bike was completely stock and now have Cobra Tri Flo slip ons and Chucksters BAK. It runs great both ways but I have not had a chance yet to try this in summer heat on a good climb under load.

How wide is the gap behind the cover? Indeed I would appreciate a photograph.
Like the stock view too.

Don't you feel your bike became more dynamic having installed aftermarket BAK&slip-ons? Sorry for being off-topic, but it is vital.

Here is a picture but not much to see, you do have plenty of air flow

The bike is much better after the slip ons and BAK. Well worth the money

Nevertheless the open style of Chuckster's BAK seems to provide more direct&cool air for the engine. But I'll follow you. For the stock view stickler.
JD Hog, you've kept your left side untouched, haven't you?
Thank you.

Eugene. Chucksters BAK provides the engine with all the air it needs.
It uses a 5 inch K&N filter if I remember correctly. Measure the stock cover and deduct 5 inches and you can see how much air Chucksters BAK can draw, plenty !

Here one should deduct not 5 inches of the k&n filter but the size of the new frame of the BAK. The gap for air flow between the edge of the stock cover and the new frame is rather narrow.
