Dash Cam

Anyone using a dash cam on their bike just in case of an accident and you have to prove the other person was at fault??

I bought one with some Christmas cash. Liked it, when it worked. Got a refund and still shopping. Just can't see paying the price for a gopro. One I had was Bullet model. Looked good on the bike, not a big square box. But the control button was really tricky to use. Harder if you had gloves on. Then it would shut itself off.

Worked pretty well in the dark, with street lights around. Quick little vid of me .

Thought I deleted the pics I had of it, found one. There is a cap that screws on the back end of the camera. Forgot to put it back on when I put the memory card back in.

I'm looking at the Hawk camera.
About $60

The bullet cam was under $40. May have just gotten a bad one. Bought from a third party, but contacted the company that made it for the problems. Very nice and quick with responses.

I think I got it more to show people some of the stuff I see riding around town.

Tires come off the truck in front of me, trailers come off the hitch on a truck next to me, and my favorite, a pile of burning hay in the middle of the freeway at 5:30 in the morning. Really wish I had the camera for those.

What brand was the bullet cam?
I think it would be easier to mount.

Brand was a Thermor BIOS 1080p camera. Checked where I got it from, and they're out of stock. Can't seem to find that brand anywhere else either.

I do have a friend that uses one of these on his atv. I think that may be what I go with. Might even get an earlier version to save money. Not really making movies with it, just needs to be good enough for the insurance if I do need it.

I also tried mounting to the bars, way to much shake. Wasn't real keen on putting the sticker padding on the dash, but it held well, and came off without leaving any marks or mess.
