Carry assortment of metric sockets, stub ratchet, 6in1 screwdriver, electrical tape, mechanics wire, leather man, tye wraps, flashlight, compressor and tire plugs, AAA card, fuses Weather this is a trip across country or next state over

Carry tools at bottom of saddle bag, lowest possible point on bike.

Do all your ride preparations week before your trip and DON'T add new farkles /changes just before you leave. Also you won't need as much stuff as you think, there is always a Walmart.

Enjoy the adventure

I put all my tools in a old style heavyduty cloth rollup pouch. All the General tools that will fit. Then, I have a old large multimeter pouch, I keep a complete set of fuses, several led lightbulbs replacements, a electrical tester,, a medicine bottle full of grease, one of vasoline, one of carwax. Right saddlebag
I strap the toolpouch to the other pouch with a elastic/velcro strap, 2 emerengcy break/shake light sticks, led flashlite. Fits fairly flat in the bottom of saddlebag.

Other saddlebag has a empty cassettecarrying case in it (cassette cases removed)that holds a slime tire pump/compressor kit, slime bottle, plugs, balance kits, assort of wires, connectors, emergency batt.start/jumper, Bottle of motorcycle cleaner, extra sparkplugs, 2 emergency break/shake light sticks.
In my roll pack-Behind my seat duffle- led flashlite, 1 quart motoroil, 1 qt. bottle of antifreeze, 1 qt. bottle of water, several bottles octane booster, 1 can seafoam, 4 bungies, 4 rubber twisties-large, 2 flavoered water for me and 2 bags of spicy peanuts (2/$1), 1 bag/bottle of mechanics wipes, hand cleaner, 5 shop rags....2 emergency break/shake light sticks, 2 foldup reflectors, and 2 road flares. My peanuts and water go in the very top of bag....

Even with the stuff in the bottom of my saddlebags, my saddle liners still fit in, just slightly scrunched on the bottoms....Rest of my cloths go in my saddleman tail bag....which span my bags and my fender....

Tow card, credit card/cash, bike tool kit, cell phone, VBA emergency contact list/VROC VERS list.

I do have a couple of clutch cut out switches which I have removed from old master cylinders, those are hard to come by on the road, and a front brake light switch or two.

I have started carrying a Slime compressor in each bike, since finding them on sale for next to nothing a couple of years ago and buying the last 4 at the store I was at.

I don't carry a METRIC tool kit, but I do have a kit with some sockets, a few wrenches, pliers and hex and torx wrenches. I have only needed to use them once, when one of my hiway pegs loosened up in Lodi, CA. I also have a small tire inflator and a tire plugging kit. I also carry a shock pump and a tire gauge.

Most importantly, I have roadside assistance, credit cards and a cell phone. I also usually carry a 9mm pistol, because you never know who you might run across on some back road somewhere.

I had a mirror come loose once. Pulled into an auto parts store and borrowed a box wrench. I carry a gerber tool, but didn't want to mar up the chrome if I didn't have to.

Tools, tape, fuses. Patch kit, Slime, air pump, Anker jump box, few feet of red and black wire, small multi meter and test light. All of that stuff is in there all the time. On longer trips I take my wife.
