Exactly, you shouldn't care, but it's still interesting to find out how your ride rates. I dunno, I don't really believe that's the problem, I think a lot find it fun. Who knows.

And I would hope people would still be courteous and keep their thoughts to theirselves if they didn't have anything nice to say about the bike. And as far as I know, that's how it's been.

I'm still undecided if it will continue.. we'll see.

I still agree that the bikes should be seen and voted on as the readers see fit. If someone doesn't like my ride,...no biggie to me. I like it and that's all that should matter to anyone.
Since you have to submit every year, I'll wait to see if we make it past tomorrow and then, God willing I'll send in my photos in 2013. Thanks

No offense to you, Mike, but do you participate in any other motorcycle forums or any other forums where there is a something of the month?

My little experience from photography forums, writing forums and other motorcycle forums has always chosen the "____ of Month" by vote.

Steve? You must mean 'Mike'?

I've owned and operated several powersports forums in the past 14 years, and ones that were a lot bigger than the fourm here. I've always implemented the same "OTM" contest on those forums, and have never heard one single complaint about any of them.. This place is the absolute first. Everyone has always loved the contests.

I know a lot of forums do it the way you described.. doesn't make it 'right' though. That's actually why I decided to do it this way, because it added a little more to it.

So after reading all the replies, is this "contest" going to continue this year? My stock bike may not have a snowball's chance but I really enjoy checking out all the different bikes, quality pics, and scenery that the guys post. It also gives me ideas on what is possible to add or modify to my bike. I may do a before and after series since I am painting her this month.
