Hi Nomads, I'm check-in from Florida as a new member previously from Texas and wish I could get back. I have 2008 Nomad, my second one, had 2004 previously. I bought the new 2004 Nomad at a dealership in Granbury Texas. Bought the 2008 Nomad at Citrus Cycle Center in Lecanto, Florida. I can say the 2004 rode better than my 2008 for some reason it was smoother. Back in June I met-up with some friends in Gatlinburg, Tn. and yes we did Deal's Gap, fun. Anyway hope to find Nomads to ride with here in Florida.

Welcome from Colorado! I can personally attest that there are some great people who own Nomads and are KawaNOW members in Florida. :)

Majeff, welcome from Jacksonville FL. You live by one of my favorite places to ride to for eats. Stumpknockers has cold beer and great food. CoachA (Ron) and the Taminator (Tammy) plus MikeinFla (and wife Natalie?) all live close by you. They are trying to get a FL KawaNow meetup done before end of year. You need to come! Check the South East Region in the Group boards for updates!

Welcome from The Heart of Dixie, Alabama. If the '08 isn't as smooth as the '04 do you think it might have something to do with your tires? Tires and shocks are about all that would cause it to not be as smooth.

To AlabamaNomadRider:

It isn't the tires because I have changed them. Back in June while on a trip to Gatlinburg, Tn., another Nomad rider asked me if I have ever had a problem with the drive shaft gear because his failed at 22,000 miles and cost $2,600 at the dealership. Another Nomad Rider I met near Dolly wood had the same problem except his mileage was only 18K. This could be why Kawasaki has gone to a belt drive. I make sure the service one my bike is done when due I suspect this to have played a role in gear failure.
