Dual fire?

I know it's here some where, but trying to use search on iPhone app sucks.
Is the Nomad dual fire or single, I can't ever remember, as I suffer from CRS (can't remember $#!+) syndrome. :)

The 1600 is a dual fire system. What are you planning on doing Doug?

Dual fire?

Actualy the 1600 is a single fire system. Two coils and 4 spark plugs. Each coil fires two plugs one on the front and one on the rear cyl at the same time.

Dual fire?

I picked up a Electronic Specialties ES 328 tach to set my idle speed and I need to figure out which setting to use.

Dual fire?

I read on Gadget's site that we have dual fire. Just don't know who to trust these days.

Dual fire?

Here is are the paragraphs from Gadget's site. I think he may have worded some things wrong. Very confusing.

Single Fire Adapter for VN900 and VN2000

The 1500/1600 Vulcans use a dual fire or 'wasted spark' ignition system that provides a pulse from the coil every revolution of the engine. The 900 and 2000 engines are 'single fire' meaning the spark plug only fires every other revolution for the power stroke (same as most cars).

The problem: the majority of motorcycle tachometers are designed to work with dual fire ignitions.

The solution: A dual fire adapter that takes pulses from both coils and feeds them to the tach.

Dual fire?

I guess it can sound correct on how its interpreted either way.
Our systems fire every revolution on both cylinders. We have two coils, one fires a front cyl plug and a rear plug, next revolution the other coil does the same.

I think this is the info I was needing.
I always forget about gadgets page (see first post, CRS)
Thanks

How is this confusing ???
It says you need a single fire adapter for the 900 and 2000
Then it says the 1500/1600 are dual fire
then once again it says the 900 and 2000 ars single fire.
Can't get much planer than that ::)

Thanks for the timely input TC. Just the way he worded it. It was just a little confusing.

Dual fire?

Something else that was confusing Tim was Gadget saying our bike is dual fire and two of our members saying it is single fire. If two plugs fire at the same time then to me that is dual fire and not confusing at all.

My tachometer is for a single fire HD, and it works perfectly hooked to only one coil........?
