2007 Nomad For Sale SOLD!!!SOLD!!!!

I have a cousin who grew up with used Jap bikes. He finally saved up enough to buy new. Convinced his wife to work over time, and they bought a Heritage Softail. After six years they traded for a Road King. Three months later they sold that. He then bought a used BMW K100RS. After two years they sold that. Now he's looking at a Star Roadliner. Says he won't go back to HD. I think he will. Time will tell.

A K100RS is an old bike.

Yes it was a old bike, he paid $5500.00 for it. I can't remember the year.

With all the conversations and trips he and I have been on, I don't know what goes thru his head, but I truly feel he will end up back on a HD.

BMW is a great Motorcycle, but finding service on a road trip would be a nightmare. For that reason its out of the running. Laura and I are leaning towards the goldwing.

I am not so concerned as one, I don't plan on breaking down and two, BMWs come with roadside assistance. While it is a reimbursement plan that covers up to $500 a day, it's something. It also comes with a concierge service that will arrange for room and car rental if you need it. That said, the only area of the country I have heard BMW riders complain about at all are some of the western states. All I can say is test ride one and see what you think of it.

Ah, you are from Canada. Not as many dealers there. Still, it wouldn't stop me from owning one. If I really was worried about dealer availability, I would have bought a HD. There are more HD dealers in Iowa than BMW dealers in Canada. May be they need it.

Nah. The GTL is a touring rig. I would suggest test riding it or any bike really. BMW is real good about test rides.

I've heard the 1200 Lt was a better handling bike then the wing and that likely still holds true. However it does not look as comfortable for the passenger and I hate to have to say this but she works 8hrs a day also:)

Can't say as I haven't sat on one. For any bike though, there's always Russell.

Theres a HD dealer a couple hundred yards from where I work, we stop in once in a while, and they usually have a Ultra with a Screamin Eagle CVO and the tag is always around 48k.
And someone always comes along eventually to buy it.

Yup, and then it sits in a garage except for 1 week in the summer oh and the odd trip to the coffee shop to "visit" with all his 'riding buddies" ::)
More of a status symbol for many of those purchased. In a few years they will be for sale for likely HALF of what they were purchased for
Strange how many of those high end bikes are still sold? in this economy especially?
