Any Updates?

Looks like it has been too quiet here. Are there any updates? The weather has been unusually good for this time of the year. I bet all of you are out riding.

I'm not out riding
I have to weather proof the deck today and mow the lawn for the last time.

Yeah, but you live in upstate NY...It must be colder there than here right now.

Actually we are going to be in the 70's for the next 5 days or so and not much rain for the next 4 days.
Cindy and I are taking an overnighter to the Catskill mountains this Monday

It's been in the 80's this past week, which is 20+degrees above normal. I bet the frost will come quick when it does, then it's time for the grip and seat heaters.

No grip and seat heaters here. We just put the bikes on life support as soon as the salt trucks come out.

I don't let them stop me. Snow and ice do though. As long as it's above 20 and I can get to a clear street, I am ok.

If I can write about last weekend - we took a ride north on Saturday and just stayed at a little roadside place. Saturday was pretty cool but Sunday was outstanding. Colors were great.

We stopped and hiked some trails, picked up some sandwiches for a picnic lunch.

had to ride some 4-lane for a stretch that was so busy. Hanging back from a trailer in front of me when his hitch busted. Couldn't figure out what I was seeing at first - just a cloud of orange sparks coming out from under the trailer.

An expressway packed full of boats and trailers headed home from the weekend, it's a dangerous place to be! -Cal

Its been getting into the 80's here also by mid afternoon. Today I went deer hunting in a Tee shirt, last week I was dressed up and still shivered the last hour in the tree stand. Had two deer within about 70 yards, then a flock of geese spooked them.

70 yards? What were you hunting with, a slingshot? THere should be meat on the table.

I believe it is archery season. 70 yards is a pretty iffy shot with a bow. Not to mention unethical. Well, in my opinion anyway. yours may vary.

Not for long. I think Rifle season starts in the northern zone sometime in October. I used to go to my uncle's property between Newport and Poland, and once I went to Paul Smiths, which is way up. I also used to hunt in a place called Big Pond in Delaware County.
