Right Place and Time

Took a little ride today as we had a break in the rain! I was just cruising around...going nowhere in particular. I was sitting at a light getting ready to turn left, when a 2008 Blue/Silver Nomad came from my right and made a right turn in front of me. As the signal light changed....I quickly gunned it straight ahead and caught up with my target in no time!

We pulled over, introduced ourselves and chatted a bit. Of course I tossed out a KawaNOW business card and told Noel all about KawaNOW. He seemed stoked as he had just bought the bike and had about 2000 miles on it is all.

I recently recruited about six new KawaNOW NW Group members in our local area via email and have yet to meet them face to face, so this was like frosting on the cake! Noel lives in Mill Creek and used to work at the Cycle Barn in Lynnwood, but is back at Boeing now.

We continued our ride out to Duvall for a mocha and more bike BS'n before riding back toward Mill Creek/Everett. Noel seemed like a really nice guy with a bunch of motorcycle know-how! He was really happy to get a 2008 Nomad as he is less than impressed with the new 2009 models. He particularly took issue with the belt-drive and all the plastic...something we all noticed at the IMA show in Seattle last year. It will be interesting to see the new 2010 models in a couple weeks!

I'm planning to meet/ride with a bunch of the new guys this Sunday morning if the weather allows and I invited Noel to join us for that ride...hopefully he makes it! Of course I will post some pics from that ride if it goes off as planned!

We are planning to meet in Lynnwood in the NE corner of the Alderwood Mall parking lot (corner of 184th and Alderwood Mall Parkway) at 10:00am Sunday Nov 29th if anyone else would like to join us....

! As your NW Region leader....I'm always working hard for us... ;)!

I hear ya...I've made all of them very aware of the rally! If you haven't looked at the main rally page lately....check it out! We have a lot of the stuff firmed up now. Let me know what you think...

Kris, find out about those knee/leg pads on the sides of Noel's gas tank. I find those interesting. It reminds me of the old school tanks.

BTW I got some real nice KawaNOW cards made up at
www.vistaprint.com I know you we can print our own but these were so cheap I couldn't pass them up. They're high gloss and I had a message printed on the back with my name and email addy. I just uploaded the file to "vista print" and picked my paper and finish, along with my message etc.. I used the last of my cards and some of yours at Anacortes.

Cool deal on the cards! As for the kneepads on Noel's tank....I did ask him about them and they are something he custom made for himself. I will ask more when I see him again!

Kris....are you riding your bikes to the show?

My daughter graduates college(knocking on wood) on Dec 12th...I will be in Bellingham for the ceremony and will be returning through Seattle on Sunday (I think). I am hoping to crash the MC show for a couple hours on my way back.

Hope to catch up with everyone. If I had my bike I could .....since it is the fastest color!

I think Sunday would work best for a couple guys. It don't matter to me what day, but I would not mind riding if the weather allowed. Give me a call when it gets closer and I'll try to meet up with you if I can!
