Riding over Labor Day weekend - Page 6

In dealing with the aftermaths of hurricanes in the past, I don't expect the remains of Isaac to move North very fast. They may have it hitting Southern Arkansas sometime around Friday morning, but I expect it to linger and move slowly North. My guess is the remnants will be around all weekend.

I hope I'm wrong. To be honest, I'm giving it until Wednesday evening. If it looks like Isaac will be hitting Arkansas on Friday, I'll probably cancel my reservations.

Friend of mine spent last week on that ride. Loved ft davis. Pics look awesome. Hoping we can ride this weekend in arkansas. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Some maps are putting Isaac up in the middle of Kansas at 2am on Saturday. If that's the case and the cloud bands go with it, we may be able to make the CV ride. We'll see.

Ok, Liz and I will not be there. We cannot get back home in time to take the grand-daughter before our son has to leave for work. And I rode 2 hours though the tail end of a hurricane back in 2003 and have no desire to ever do it again. If we ride this weekend we will be going northwest away from the storm. Everyone be safe!

Sorry boys. I have just been put on call all weekend. We have 9 crews already working the hurricaneand I am on call and have to be available through Monday. Im bumbed!

That crossed my mind today after hearing about 58,000 people in Louisiana not having power.

All predictions are showing that Isaac will be in traveling straight up through the middle of Arkansas and be in Missouri by Saturday. But, the remnants will probably still be dumping rain in Arkansas. We must also take into consideration the fact that Arkansas will be experiencing power outages in it's wake. I'll make a final determination tomorrow (Wednesday).

Hell Scott, you may be traveling to Caddo Valley anyway.... to help them get power back on!
