Surely there's more members in this area. How about the rest of you letting us know who you are and where your from and what you ride? Inquiring minds want to know.

Howdy folks! I'm Robert Howell and I live in Kingwood, TX. Started out on a 900 Classic LT in October 2007. I would take my wife Cheryl riding and after a couple of trips on I45 she mentioned that she thought we should get something with a little more power if we're going to ride on busy highways like 45. I said, "I think you're absolutely right sweetheart". Within a couple of weeks we were cruising around on an '08 black/red Nomad. No regrets on bike selection this time. Look forward to meeting all of you.

Hi ya all. Name is Ken Slocum, wifes name is Susie. We live in El Paso, Texas. Currently on a work assignment in Durango, Mexico, 12 hours south or El Paso, until 2010, but I try to make whatever rallies I can.

We will also become grandparents this fall for the 1st time...that we are aware of.

Drive a 2008 Blue/Silver 1600 Nomad and have really enjoyed my modifications. I will provide updated pictures later. Currently have 6k miles.

I think this forum thing is really cool.

Hi Ken, do you ride in Mexico? I've been curious about taking the bike down there. Also, are you related to Joshua Slocum, who was the first person to sail around the world singlehanded?

Thanks guys,

And yes, I do ride here in Mexico. I have rode my bike several times from Durango to El Paso, its about 695 mi one-way.

The pictures in my signature are from here. I plan on making a ride to Mazatlan and I'll post pictures. Lots of mountains, rivers, etc... I have seen several rallies here, and suprisingly many bikers from the states.

I have been with this Japanese company for 22+ years, and unfortunately, and we have shut down our mfg plants in the US and moved them to Mexico. Couple more years and I'll be lookin for a career change. :(

Keep me posted well enough in advance and I'd be interested in any short rallies you all have, if and when I can make it.

Not Aware of any Joshua...but who knows. ???

LW is catchin up. Have about 13K on her now. Only mods are seat, bars and grips. Love to ride. Don't care what ya call me, just call me for lunch. I'd been here sooner but I thought ya needed a permission slip and a password.

PS- I still have hair. Do I have to sit with the kids?
