Spring is in the air! Time to ride!

I have decided I need to get out and ride. So, on Saturday, May 25, I am going to do a BunBurnner 1500. That's 1500 miles in less than 36 hours.

I'll start in Blanchard, Oklahoma, ride up to I-40, go east to Little Rock, Ar., west down I-30 to Dallas, Tx., catch I-20 to Odessa, Tx., north to Lovington and Portales, NM., Back on I-40 east to Oklahoma City, OK. should be about 1578 miles and take around 27 hours riding time. Therefore, I get to stop and sleep for around 6 - 7 hours Saturday night and still finish in 34 hours.

Easy living!!!

You Iron Butt'ers are some crazy bastards. I know a guy who did the UCC (Key West to Prudoe Bay, Alaska) in about 10 days! He lives in MN so he rode the 1600 miles just to start the UCC. He's planning on 5000 miles in a week this summer (not sure which IBA ride that is). (I won't say what bike he did it on pursuant to the new forum rules.)

I'm happy with 400 miles a day although I'll probably get a couple 700 mile days in August as I'll ride to a rally a few states over.

Have a great trip. I'm going to head out myself in a couple days for a nice trip through New Mexico, Arizona and Colorado. I can hardly wait to get going!

Got the bike packed and ready to roll!! I'll be starting at 7:00am in the morning, and stopping for a few hours sleep Saturday night around 8:30 pm in Eastland Texas on I-20.

If you want to follow my trip, the following link will take you to a site that my Spot Tracker will post a location mark with info on a google type map every 10 minutes or so.

My max is about 700 miles/day. 400 if the wife is along.

Gene, did you make it back home safely? The last time I checked your progress you were just west of Clinton OK.
