I think the difference between them is the number of stators and rectifiers in the charging system. The Nomads can have two and the Meanie has one.
There are threads about swapping them to gain one IIRC, you could do that to the Meanie engine, it's not hard. Main thing is swapping the flywheel. I did a write up on that but it was based on the installed engine, it wouldn't be much different other than how you hold it in place for tightening.

IIRC = "If I remember correctly" And here again "Mas Tequila" is the one to talk to about this.
Yes the difference is 2 vs 1 stator and rectifier.
