If it's any consolation... I'm putting Cisco in the shop tomorrow to have new head bearings installed, new front wheel bearings, new fork seals, new dust covers and new brake pads installed front and back. Cisco will be in Dallas for about a month.

Also, I've decided to go to the dark side in March or April. I'll be having a Perelli Centurato P1 runflat tire put on the back and a new Bridgestone on the front. By the time June gets here, Cisco will be ready!
I hope all it cost is a couple of gaskets but we’ll see. I just hope all the parts I pull off go back on (I though I’d say it before someone else did). I do have a RDL coming in mid January so I hope it’s not an expensive endeavor.

There shouldn't be oil in that area. Must have a crankshaft seal leaking into it. Hope its not to hard of a fix.

I have a pic of it on my shop manual and it shows the dipstick going in there from the back side.

No need to buy a new alternator cover, unless you can see a crack in it (very unlikely).
Drain the oil and fuel, roll out some old carpet and lay the bike over onto its right side. With a small screwdriver or awl pry the rubber grommet away from the case, spray solvent in there and force new sealant into the gap, work your away along until the grommet has new sealant all around. Use sealant that is compatible with oil such as Hylomar, not silicon.

Yes, the alternator is oil cooled.

Thanks Gary, I’ll get some Hylomar and try it.

Sorry to hear about your troubles.
Hope it’s a fairly easy and inexpensive fix.

It’s the rubber grommet that the stator wires go through. It right behind the kickstand. I put a 2x4 underneath the kickstand and it stopped leaking for now. When it warms up I’ll do what Gary suggested, pull out the grommet and reseal with Hylomar non-setting sealant.

(Yes, the alternator is oil cooled. )
I remember reading about this in another thread now. And talking about it at a rally with someone. Thought it was strange that the stator was bathed in oil. We had a starter on Luke's bike that the seal went bad and filled it with oil.
Should be simple, straight forward fix.
